Indonesia Exim Bank


Indonesia Eximbank is a special financial institution established under the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2 Year 2009 dated January 12, 2009, on Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (LPEI Act), which commenced its operations on September 1, 2009, pursuant to the Decree of the Ministry of Finance No. 336/KMK.06/2009 dated August 24, 2009, concerning the Operational Date of Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia. Indonesia Eximbank is fully owned by the Government of The Republic of Indonesia.
The scope of duty of Indonesia Eximbank in implementing the national export financing involves the provision of financing, guarantee, and insurance services. Indonesia Eximbank may provide national export financing through conventional as well as sharia scheme. Indonesia Eximbank may carry out special assignment of the Government to support the National Export Program upon the expense of the Government.
Pursuant to the LPEI Act, the initial capital of Indonesia Eximbank was determined at notless than Rp 4,000,000,000,000 (four trillion Rupiah). This equity capital represents an allocation of state wealth and is not divided into shares. In the event that the capital of Indonesia Eximbank was less than Rp 4,000,000,000,000 (four trillion Rupiah), the Government will make up the shortfall from the state budget under the prevailing mechanism. The addition of capital to cover the capital shortfall in Indonesia Eximbank is determined by Government Regulation.
The Board of Directors is the sole organ of LPEI. A member of the Board of Directors, shall be appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and serve concurrently as the Executive Director by the Minister of Finance. LPEI’s (Exim Bank’s) dissolution shall only be made by an Act.
